Stephen Saenz, D.O. is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine in both Family Medicine and Primary Care Sports Medicine. He was born and raised locally in San Antonio, graduating from Central Catholic High School in 2008. After graduating from Baylor University in 2012, he followed his father’s footsteps and began his medical training at The Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth, Texas, earning his degree as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. He left Texas to the Sunshine State to complete his residency at the nationally renowned University of Florida-Shands Hospital, where he received exceptional training in Family Medicine, with curriculum specialization in Sports Medicine. After graduation from residency, Stephen returned to his beloved hometown for fellowship training under his father and his long-time mentors at Sports Medicine Associates of San Antonio.

His destiny for a career in Sports Medicine has been no secret through his journey, having organized and presented in medical conferences both locally and nationally, and having achieved publications for sports related topics. Stephen enjoys caring for athletes from all sports and backgrounds, but he takes a special interest in soccer players and extreme sports athletes, as Stephen has long enjoyed participating in these sports personally. In his leisure time, Stephen can be found enjoying a plethora of outdoor sports like soccer, golf, fishing, hunting, and running, or spending quality time with his family.
