DR. ALLEN TALKS ABOUT CBD & PAIN MANAGEMENT

“THINGS LIKE CBD, ALLOW ME TO MANAGE SOME OF THAT CHRONIC DISCOMFORT AND ALLOW ME TO BE FUNCTIONAL”

Sports Medicine Associates decided to look into the use of CBD treatments for the management of chronic pain—mainly out of the demand from our patients. Our patients come to us with chronic conditions, that are orthopedic in nature, but we just can’t fix with surgery or conditions that are as managed as they can be (based on current technology).

At SMASA, our goal is to manage some of these chronic pains and ailments long term. We, undoubtably, try to achieve that goal without pain relieving medications like codeine, and try to limit the use of anti-inflammatories because these have been prone to cause kidney disease, liver issues, and GI symptoms.

BECAUSE AN INCREASED NUMBER OF PATIENTS WHO WERE USING CBD WERE COMING TO US OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS, WE, THE PHYSICIAN AT SMASA, STARTED TO DISCUSS THIS APPROACH.

As we researched, we found that patients had different experiences with CBD and that there were multiple outlets where one could purchase it. We weren't sure what people were buying, but we knew that there was a demand from our patients and many others who are suffering.

Sports Medicine Associates wanted to provide an answer to that demand, so we have partnered with a pharmacy over the last year and have diligently worked with them to produce an absolutely pure broad-spectrum CBD oil and cream.

BECAUSE WE DEVELOPED THIS LINE OF PRODUCTS WE ARE CONFIDENT IN WHAT WE’RE GIVING TO OUR PATIENCES AND KNOW THEY'RE GETTING EXACTLY WHAT THEY'RE BUYING.

We looked at the customer service aspect of the product, the deliverance of it—really, every detail of the product. On the back side of the bottle there's a QR code that anyone can scan it to be linked to a website that tells them everything that's in their bottle.

And, again, the goal is to try to help our patients manage these chronic orthopedic aches and pains and ailments. Since our name is on it—we stand by the product.

Dr. Allen’s tells us about his personal experience with CBD

At this point in my life, my right knee is not perfect anymore. If money or procedures could make it feel better—it would feel better—but it doesn't. There's a part of it that's never going to be the same, but I can manage it with CBD.

In my own experience, CBD has allowed me to manage discomfort in my knee. I apply it twice a day, once in the morning and once mid-day. Is it a miracle? Does it make me feel like I'm 20 years old? No, it doesn't. But, what it does do is it allows me to function pretty comfortably, and, fortunately, I'm still able to do the things I want to do.

I tend to workout 3-5 times a week, I cycle close to 100 miles a week, still do yoga, and even lift weights—things still hurt. It just happens as we get older.

However, things like CBD allow me to manage some of that chronic discomfort and allow me to be functional. Plus, I'm not taking medications like anti-inflammatories or codeine. Most of all, I'm not limiting my life.

We assure patients that what we’re looking at is science and that the ingenuity behind the product is all science, as well.

Does it work for you? There's only one way to find out.

If you're going to purchase our product, we want you to purchase something that we can stand behind 100%. We want to be able to tell our patients “You are getting 100% broad-spectrum CBD.” And, we stand behind that.
