Dr. Salazar was born and raised in McAllen, Texas by his parents Hugo and Becky Salazar. Dr. Salazar is a graduate of the University of Texas Pan American (now known as UTRGV) for his undergraduate degree in 2009. He earned his medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in 2013, and completed his residency training at the CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency Program in 2016.

Dr. Salazar and his wife spend their extra time running and if not helping a patient during the Rock N’ Roll Marathon, you just might be running right next to him. Dr. Salazar is also the Student Health Center Physician at St. Mary’s University, who’s responsibility is to keep the student population and the athletes healthy.
